The following iPhone will not work in Russia because of the Apple solution
In recent years, Apple has gotten the habit of producing three best smartphones per year, and in the future, most likely, this tradition will continue. Nevertheless, most likely, the following iPhone will not work in Russia due to the decision of the "apple" corporation, and the fault of all is its love for reducing the thickness of the shell and getting rid of unnecessary components.
In 2016, from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus lost the familiar 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones, which will never find a place in the "apple" mobile devices. Next year, with a huge likelihood, Apple will remove from its flagships another component, without which they will not work in Russia. This will be a physical slot for installing SIM cards, without which branded mobile devices will not be able to connect to Russian networks.
The smart watch Apple Watch Series 3, which is already on sale in Russia, Europe, the United States and other regions, has an LTE-module that allows them to connect directly to the networks of cellular operators without creating a pair with the iPhone. The problem is that it's impossible to install a familiar SIM card of the nano-SIM type, as Apple has implemented support for the eSIM standard, which is a virtual chip attached to the motherboard, which contains all the information about the device. In other words, eSIM is the future.
The smartphones Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have support for this standard, so there is virtually no doubt that the next iPhone, which will be released in 2018, will not work in Russia because of Apple's decision to install in them is not the usual slot for SIM -card, and the module eSIM, occupying very little space inside the case.
According to Russian legislation, this standard is a way for cloning SIM cards, so it is banned, and so cellular operators will not be able to provide its support in any way until this ban is lifted. So it turns out that if the iPhone of the 2018 model equips only with the "sim card" eSIM, which is already supported in Europe, the US and most Asian countries, then in Russia the new products will not be able to work, or rather, they will not be able to call, send messages and go online Mobile Internet.
